In the second half of September, it is also worth visiting Gorizia, where the popular Gusti di Frontiera / Tastes Across the Border festival takes place.
The festival brings together cuisines from different countries, local flavours, wine and a lively atmosphere in the unique cross-border area. Gorizia is only a short trip from Kamp David, making the festival a great choice for an afternoon or evening excursion.
At the end of September, the Vipava Valley comes alive with speed, excitement and adrenaline. The MAHLE 14th Rally Nova Gorica will take place from 25 to 27 September.
The rally takes place on scenic roads and through villages across the wider Gorica area, offering a fantastic experience for motorsport fans. Watch the drivers tackle fast sections and challenging corners while enjoying the unique atmosphere of a rally taking place among the beautiful landscapes of the region.
September is the perfect time to visit the local winegrowers. Open Wine Cellars in the Vipava Valley continue until 30 September 2026, making this a great opportunity to discover local wines and experience the valley’s rich wine-making tradition.
Visit one of the many wine cellars, taste the indigenous Vipava Valley varieties Zelen and Pinela, and meet the local winegrowers. They will be happy to introduce you to their wines, wine-making traditions and the unique characteristics of the local vineyards.
