Besides other natural features, the Vipava Valley is also richly endowed with waters: rivers, small waterfalls and streams. Two rivers flow here, the Vipava river and the Soča river which also merges along the Italian border. Both rivers offer opportunities for unforgettable water experiences – canoeing, kayaking and canyoning. Guided tours are possible in cooperation with the best local providers.
New adventure in Vipava Valley - Vipava SUP Adventure. In hot summer days, water sports are even more welcome. That is why we are very happy to offer you something new. You can choose different kind of tours - sup tour, sup tour with local cuisine and wine tasting etc.
We will be happy to help you with organizing the tour, including the ride from the campsite.
THE RIVER VIPAVA
The main attraction of the Vipava Valley is certainly the Vipava River, which is the only river in Europe that has a deltaic spring. There is no "official" place to swim "yet", but local people swim there a lot and so can you - but of course on your own responsibility. It is best to find your own bathing spot (located between Velike Žablje and Renče). LINK
BELA RAVINE
Bela pool is popular bathing spot in the summer months, that attracts locals and other visitors. The warm and clean water offers a pleasant refreshment in the summer heat. Find your own swimming spot located between Sanabor and Vrhpolje.
THE RIVER HUBELJ
Along the Nature Learning Trail (Naravoslovna učna pot), we can find quite a few spots by the Hubelj river, where locals bathe in the high summer temperatures. You can find more information about the route itself under the section Hiking.
IDRIJSKA BELA
Idrijska bela is located in the Zgornja Idrijca Regional park. Here you can find Lajšt natural swimming pool, where you can refreshen yourself on hot summer days and lie in the natural shade. The natural swimming pool is becoming more and more popular with locals and tourists as well.
THE SOČA BATHING AREA (SOLKAN)
The Soča bathing area is located by the old dam in Solkan. The river in this area is swirling and strong, so it can be dangerous for those who do not know how to swim in the wild water. A lot of people visit this area just to enjoy the nice ambient and to sunbathe.
THE SOČA BATHING AREA (KANAL)
There is a sandy beach near the Kanal bridge. The Soča river warms up here on hot summer days and welcomes a lot of people that want to refresh themselves.
MONFALCONE/ TRŽIČ (ITALY)
A bit more than half an hour drive from the campsite, you can swim in the Bay of Trieste. Marina Julia has a long sandy beach. The sea here is not deep and this is exactly why this beach is suitable for small children.
SISTIANA/ SESLJAN (ITALY)
Sistiana is certainly the most popular seaside resort among locals. In less than an hour's drive, you can swim in the Bay of Trieste, right next to the tourist town of Portopiccolo. Sistiana beach can be very crowded during the holidays and on the weekends.
