Held in mid-May, when the Vipava Valley is in full spring bloom, the Flavours of the Vipava Valley Festival (Okusi Vipavske) is a celebration of locally grown and produced wines and culinary specialties. Set in the heart of the valley, this traditional event brings together top winemakers, fruit and vegetable growers, and creators of unique flavours that best represent the region’s identity.
A highlight of this year’s edition is the introduction of activities connected to the first European Ice Cream Route, developed as part of the GELATOn the ROAD project.
Over the two days of the festival, visitors can enjoy tastings of premium wines and sample a variety of local dishes. The Vipava Market will offer a wide range of local products, and the program will include culinary workshops. On Sunday, there will be a live recording of the podcast Sweet and Sour World hosted by Grega Repovž.
Monday is dedicated to professionals, featuring a blind wine tasting led by renowned wine expert Robert Gorjak.
A staple of the event is the Month of Local Cuisine, giving visitors ample opportunity to explore and enjoy the valley’s culinary offerings in participating restaurants.
The Flavours of the Vipava Valley Festival is organized by the Regional Development Agency ROD Ajdovščina in cooperation with local winemakers.
